Classroom Visuals
Cooling Corner:
This is used as a classroom management behaviorist tool. If students demonstrate misbehaviors, they are given a cooling corner chart to read and reflect on while sitting out. To return, they need to discuss their discoveries with the teacher.

Earth Day Poem:
This poem was co-created with Hannah Sego. We designed this poem around the Anne-Green Gilbert's brain-based dance theory to address all body connectivity patterns: Breath, Tactile, Core-Distal, Head-Tail, Upper-Lower, Body Half, Cross Lateral, and Vestibular.

Rules Poster:
This is my classroom rules poster. It is introduced on the first day of class along with the classroom expectations and routines.

Self-Published Children's Book
Felix's Adventures: The Congo Rainforest

I wrote this children's book about a dog that explores a rain forest to discover new friends and new dance styles along his adventure through using the elements of dance and english language arts.

This book is used for creative movement improvisation and has a whole unit developed around it. Students learn about a dance form called Labanotation. They learn the elements within Labanotation, the symbols, and how to embody the symbols through exploration. They later develop and notate their own dance as a culminating project to the story.

Students are given the opportunity to write the beginning to Felix's sequel and next adventure.

Technology

At the beginning of the school year, I ask my students to complete a Padlet introducing themselves to the class. This link is only accessible through the classroom website and begins the integration of technology into our classroom from day one. I demonstrate how to complete this assignment.
